Gators Basketball Team Loses agains #1 Ranked Kentucky
The 78-58 Lose for the Gators on Febuary 7 was not a great surprise. If any team is to beat the Wildcats they will have to play nothing but their best, and the Wildcats will have to play anything short of their best.
Some of the Wildcats scorers were:Sophomore guard Doron Lamb who scored 18 points, hitting 4-for-5 from 3-point range,60 percent from the arc. Freshman forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist scored 13 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, and classmate Marquis Teague gained 12 points and 10 assists, as the Wildcats won their 16th straight game to extend the nation’s longest home-winning streak to 49.
Gators shot season-lows of 34.9 percent from the floor and 22.2 percent from deep. 6-foot-10 freshman center Anthony Davis(Wildcats) was a big factor in this game with 16 points, six rebounds, blocked four shots, and had two steals. UF's Center Patric Young had 12 points and four rebounds. Davis's defence made it difficult for the Gators to feed Young downlow, which caused poor shots to be taken from the outside.
Erving Walker (UF senior) Point Guard, was 0-11 on the court and had one assist and one turnover. This is the only time since Dec.30 2008 (freshman year) that Walker has been scoreless.
There is a reason Kentucky is ranked #1 overall.“Listen, they’re very, very good,” Donovan said. “There’s not like one thing you necessarily can do against them.” Which is why Kentucky has kept thier #1 spot thus far. Lets see if the outcome is the same when the Wildcats go to The Swamp to play in March.

I am not much of a basketball fan at all, but I love the Gators so when they lose in anything it's a sad day.
